This meter provides general guidance for adding and monitoring Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl) in wash and flume water and can be used as a starting point to develop operation specific procedures of sanitations. It is a good helper standardized cleaning operations moderate concentrations of bleach water.

NaClO concentrations that are too high can damage the product and harm employees. It is wise to wear protective clothing and eye covering when using NaClO solutions. Also, make sure that the area is well ventilated. Harmful chlorine gas can be producted if the solution falls below pH 4.0 or if the NaClO is used in hot water.
It will take some time to determine how often you will need to check NaClO concentration and add more NaClO to your system. The first time you use the Chlorine meter, check concentration (ppm) levels frequently. If you find that the chlorine is being used up too quickly and you have lots of organic matter (dirts, residue etc.) in your wash water, consider changing the water more often. High levels of inorganic materials (such as iron) in water can alter ppm readings.
Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) self-correcting takes one minute to complete.
Probe close to container or surface, the mearsured value will be lower.
